The Best Chocolate Cake Ever

I love chocolate cake in every variation... But I think that this one is the most delicious cake I've ever tasted! It's a french recipe and the German version can be found here, I just added vanilla extract and converted the measurements to cups.

This cake tastes best when you let it cool and then leave it in the fridge for a few hours (I left it there over night).

So here's the recipe:

Ingredients (for a 26cm/10" springform pan):

320 g or 2 3/4 cups of dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
170 g or 1 3/8 cup of unsalted butter

160 g  or 1 1/3 cup sugar
5 eggs, room temparature
40 g or 1/3 cup flour
5 g vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 150°C/300°F.

Combine the chocolate and the butter in a bowl and slowly melt them in the microwave or in a bain-marie.  When the chocolate and the butter are melted, stir in the sugar and let it cool. In the meantime, separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until they are stiff and set them aside. Add the egg yolks to the cooled chocolate-butter mixture and then add in the flour and the vanilla extract. Slowly combine the ingredients and then fold in the beaten egg whites.

Line a springform pan with parchment paper and add in the dough. The cake needs about 45 minutes in the oven to be ready.
